Connecting Rollbar to PagerDuty

Rollbar can create, update, and resolve Incidents in PagerDuty.

In PagerDuty:

  1. From the PagerDuty dashboard, click Configuration → Services from the top navigation bar.
  2. On the right side of the page, click the green + Add New Service button.
  3. Fill in the service name (e.g. "Rollbar").
  4. Select an escalation policy.
  5. Under Service Type, choose Generic API system.
  6. Click the Add Service button at the bottom.
  7. On the service page under Integration Settings, copy the Service API key.

In Rollbar:

  1. Navigate to the project you want to integrate with PagerDuty
  2. Click Settings → Notifications → PagerDuty
  3. Paste the Service API key from PagerDuty and click Save Settings
    NOTE: You can override the default Service API key in each of your Rollbar notification rules to control which escalation policy is triggered in PagerDuty.
  4. Click Send Test Notification to ensure that your configuration is correct
  5. Click Enable
  6. Configure your notification rules. See Notifications for details of the available configuration options.
